Let's get wise about waste

This workshop explores the climate and biodiversity crisis and how young people can develop and use leadership skills to take action. A presentation scribed by artist William Bock identifies important leadership skills and how young people can use these skills to create change.

An art activity will promote understanding and communicate the impacts of climate change and air pollution, while Hope for the Future, a UK-based sustainability charity, will facilitate an activity on how pupils can write to their members of parliament, Scottish parliament and the Senedd to push for systemic change.

Resource packs for teachers to accompany this workshop series, including suggested lesson plans and links to further information and resources on climate action.

The air we breathe

In this acitvity, artist Sarah Strachan encourages pupils to think about the quality of the air they breathe both at home and outside, and the causes of air pollution.

Sarah looks at how our perception of, and belonging in the world affects our ecological awareness. The workshop gets pupils to think about the quality of air they breathe and then to produce a collaborative sound clip of breathing.
